Originally Held: June 14, 2022 | 2:00 PM EST

Webinar Details

The use of telehealth in promoting a contactless environment skyrocketed during the pandemic but has since stabilized at a much higher rate than before the pandemic. Telehealth is now a key enforcement priority for federal and state enforcement agencies and regulating telehealth interactions between the patients and providers are riddled with challenges. However, it is HIM’s responsibility to ensure policies for telehealth address documentation requirements, maintain images or recordings, know when these should be considered part of the patient’s health record, and confirm records are retained according to state retention laws. This session empowers hospital and HIM executives to update a universal standard for policies and procedures in telehealth. MRO’s industry expert provides guidance to develop best practices for organizations to address specific topics in telehealth including additional documentation requirements, consents, non-specialist software regulations, physician-patient relationship, evaluation and treatment, and privacy and security of patient records.
