As part of the ongoing updates to Evaluation and Management (E&M) visits and related coding guidelines that are intended to reduce administrative burden, the American Medical Association (AMA) CPT® Editorial Panel approved revised coding and updated guidelines for Other E&M visits, effective January 1, 2023. These guidelines, for all codes in 2023, align with the 2021 office visit rules, but the 2023 E&M updates include more changes than just how to select a level.
