This valuable education session explores the inter-related healthcare interoperability landscape and provides health information (HI) professionals with the knowledge they need to actively support 2024 information sharing and clinical data exchange programs. Starting with a review of the 21st Century Cures Act, Anthony Murray, Chief Interoperability Officer at MRO, provides a timely update for healthcare’s most important interoperability standards including TEFCA, FHIR, and USCDI.
Attendees will evaluate the 2024 progress made by QHINs to support expanded health information exchange, as well as assess the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard set of rules and specifications with specific focus on how FHIR impacts common HI functions such as release of information, coding, quality reporting, and payer audits. Finally, changes are ahead for the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI). This standardized set of health data classes and elements lays the foundation for better data integrity in healthcare—a top priority for every HI professional.
Join this session to fully prepare your HI career for interoperability changes ahead in 2024, and for years to come.
